Work in series / SJ 55 71

My parents took my brother and myself to the forest in the holidays: every year we took a tree home for christmas. I fell in love with the then massive, open and wild space but when visiting the forest time after time, I gradually found it to be smaller and more tame with each visit- I began to grow tired of the landscape as gravel paths and parks are installed. However tired the forest became to me, still a nostalgia continued to tempt me to visit and continue to be somewhat underwhelmed.

The series was made with a custom pinhole camera with a reverse-mounted lens to discover more, hidden landscapes directly under my feet only a centimetre or less in area.
